Get ready to Beat the Street in Salford!
Salford is turning into a giant interactive game this autumn! From Wednesday 24 September to Wednesday 5 November, Beat the Street invites residents of all ages to walk, cycle, run, wheel or scoot to earn points, win prizes, and help keep the city green.
Initially designed by a Dr to promote movement, 250 Beat Boxes will be installed on lampposts, players tap a card or use the free app to log their journeys and climb the leaderboard. Every step counts – not just for your team, but for the environment too! Hundreds of trees will be planted through the initiative, with opportunities to volunteer as a Citizen Forester.
Commissioned by the Bupa Foundation and supported by Salford City Council, Canal & River Trust, and Sport England, this fun and free challenge is designed to boost physical activity, community connection and reach 27,000 people via Primary Schools and community networks
