PRACTICE
In January 2023, Salford Primary Care Together asked for assistance from colleagues across the locality to help and enable us to implement a recovery plan for the practice. Whilst all of General Practice was under significant pressure, the response was extremely positive. So many colleagues offered help and support. There were many words of encouragement and this gave SPCT further belief that we could achieve what we set out to do.
SPCT formally accepted a PCN proposal (Eccles and Irlam) to provide ‘mutual aid’ to the practice. This offer provided SPCT the opportunity to ensure that it had consistency across all 3 sites and the PCN offered the capacity to implement an aggressive recovery plan. The ICB, LMC and CQC were kept updated. Without this support it would not have been possible to be where we are today.
SPCT are incredibly thankful to everyone who helped, as part of the PCN offer and otherwise, with a special thank you to St Andrew’s Medical Practice who led on the PCN offer.
The recovery plan involved a focus on recruitment, systems and processes and a restructure within the practice with regards to workflow and teams.
SPCT would also like to thank its staff, for coming together and uniting whilst some significant changes were implemented. The backing and support from employees allowed SPCT to make the necessary changes. SPCT are delighted to share that a CQC inspection in August resulted in a rating of ‘Good’ across all areas, which is a fantastic achievement and a significant improvement on the previous inspection outcome.
