Our Little Hulton practice has been rated as Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The GP practice, based on Haysbrook Avenue, was visited by the CQC in May with inspectors spending time on-site speaking to staff and service users. They explored the practice’s systems and processes, as well as examples of multi-disciplinary team working and patient feedback forms. They also spoke directly to patients to understand their experience of the service.
The CQC are the independent regulators of health and adult social care in England. They ensure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and are continuously striving to improve.
This is the first time the practice has been inspected since it became part of Salford Primary Care Together in April 2018. The practice’s previous CQC rating was ‘Good’.
Salford Primary Care Together Chair Liz Cross said: “We are absolutely delighted that the practice has been recognised as Outstanding by the CQC. This means the world to the staff who work so hard day-in, day-out to ensure people receive high standards of care.
“The CQC highlighted lots of examples of staff providing an excellent standard of care and experience. This included being praised for the practice’s multi-disciplinary approach to delivering care, the opportunities and support the practice offers to students to develop and learn and the important role the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians play.
“Inspectors also noticed how well the practice works with other agencies, for example, the St Mary’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre, our Vulnerable Adults Co-ordinator role and how we’ve embedded a no-blame culture to support openness and shared learning from mistakes.
“We are extremely proud that the CQC inspectors were able to see what we have to offer at our Little Hulton practice and of course, where further improvements were identified, we will work hard to address these.”
