Health and wellbeing twist for Walkden and Little Hulton Festival

Posted: 29th June 2018

We are delighted to be partnering with Walkden Community on this year’s ever-popular Walkden and Little Hulton Wellbeing Festival.

The festival is now in its fifth year and last year saw approximately 2,500 people enjoy the event in Walkden’s Parr Fold Park.

Supported by Salford Primary Care Together, GP practices in Walkden and Little Hulton are joining forces to give the event more of a ‘health and wellbeing twist’ with many members of staff from local GP surgeries manning health advice and information stalls at the festival.

Dot Tomkinson from Walkden Community Group said: “The event is organised by the community for the community so we were more than happy to work with Salford Primary Care Together and the GP practices in Walkden and Little Hulton to give the event more of a health and wellbeing twist.”

Dr Neil Turton, Chief Executive Officer, from Salford Primary Care Together said: “The GP practices in Walkden and Little Hulton have worked hard to make a vital contribution to this important community event. I am sure festival-goers will take advantage of the wealth of health expertise on offer to them at the event.”

The festival takes place 12noon until 5pm on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Attractions include a line-up of live music, face painting, climbing wall, donkey rides, sports, crafts, food, drink and much more. Entrance is free.
