Broughton has become the third neighbourhood in Salford to benefit from evening and weekend GP appointments.
The Salford Wide Extended Access Pilot (SWEAP) has now been rolled out to practices in the Broughton area, meaning that patients can book appointments later into the evening Monday to Friday and on Saturday and Sunday mornings. These appointments are booked by patients with their GP practice and patients will be seen at Newbury Place Health Centre.
Chief Executive Officer Dr Neil Turton said: “We know that getting a suitable GP appointment to fit in around a busy life can often be quite a challenge for people. We are thrilled that we are starting to make this an easier part of life in Salford. Broughton has become the third neighbourhood in the city where people can arrange evening and weekend appointments with a GP. By the spring, we aim to be offering this to all residents registered with a Salford GP practice.”
SWEAP has already been launched in Swinton and Eccles and Irlam.
